Whether you are looking for longer or shorter walks, the area is a sheer delight. Location & Itinerary
Our first day will be spent by walking back to Tenby from the west via some magnificent coastline at Pembrokeshire’s southernmost point. The long walk spends virtually all day on the coast heading back from Freshwater East via Swan Lake Bay and Manorbier Bay (where the shorter walk joins the route after viewing Manorbier’s well preserved Norman Castle) before rounding Old Castle Head and returning to Tenby via Giltar Point. What a gem, with sea views abounding and passing a myriad of cliffs, bays and coastal formations including the amazing Church Doors. This day often finishes by paddling barefoot the entire length of Tenby’s enormous south beach. On Sunday we aim to take in another great coastal day heading all the way back to Tenby from the east. This day has a different feel to the day before with tracks which head down to the coast, promenades, tunnels and also well-maintained high cliff paths which swing us back to Tenby via its marina. On Monday the walks incorporate yet more magnificent coastal path. We’ll pass natural rock arches, sea stacks and sites of ancient forts whilst breathing in the clean sea air and listening to the waves crashing below. The afternoon takes a very pleasant twist by veering west to sample the contrast of the inland downs and woodlands before walking beside the famous Stackpole Park lily ponds to where otters have recently returned. Those on the shorter walk won’t miss any of these delights and one of the many highlights will include the dramatic Stackpole Head, home to such rare wildlife such as the Chough and Peregrine Falcon.
To allow you to choose a walk that suits you best, WalkWise UK will provide a minimum of two walks on each day, led by professional and knowledgeable walking guides. On all days there will be a harder walk of 10-13 miles with up to 1,500+ft of ascent, and a gentler walk of 7-9 miles with less ascent.

Travel & Stay
We will be staying in the Clarence House Hotel which is superbly situated in the centre of the Esplanade enjoying panoramic views over the South Shore to St Catherine’s Island, Castle Beach, Giltar Point and the sea beyond. The hotel is used to catering for groups and meal choice is ample and varied while the Seagull Bar keeps us topped up with drinks. The Rose Garden offers us peace and tranquility and is a perfect place to relax at the end of the day. You can also watch the world ‘sail-by’ from the Caldey View Terrace vantage point; where stunning views abound. All six floors are serviced by a lift and all bedrooms are en-suite with colour televisions and tea and coffee making facilities. All in all a great base to operate a walking holiday from. On Friday night we will all gather and take our evening meal together in the hotel. Then on Saturday and Sunday we will head onto Tenby to sample the many delights of Tenby’s cafés, restaurants and bars!!
