Mid-Week Walk: Hade Edge
Overview
A walk today which overlooks ‘Last of the Summer Wine’ country. We start at Winscar Reservoir and make our way over moorland to lovely viewpoints over the deeply incised valleys around Holmfirth before returning on good tracks and quiet lanes to the cars, taking in a bit of industrial heritage along the way. You must have walking boots and wet weather gear as this is an elevated walk, and please bring sandwiches for a picnic lunch.
Facilities: Manned public toilets in Holmfirth Bus Station as you drive towards the meeting place. To find them don’t turn right onto B6106 as per directions but carry on for 30m and they’re on the left (cost 20p). Turn left into the bus station (small car park there).
