Join Rob Smith for an easy to moderate 6 mile ramble Foxton Locks with an optional Sunday Lunch.
We start by exploring the flight of locks and the Inclined Plane (used to move larger barges that wouldn’t fit into the locks) admiring the stunning views over the surrounding countryside before going along the canal to the village of Foxton.
Using a bridleway, we make our way to the pretty village of Gumley, with its beautiful church, built in 1821 and then around the woods.
Finally, we skirt around Smeeton Hill, through the village as we make our way back to Foxton Locks and the pub!
This is available as a ramble only or ramble and Sunday Lunch (see below) - just choose your preferred option.
