Arran Bunk Barn Weekend
Overview
The Isle of Arran is a place where you can find a little bit of everything you'd ever want from a Scottish island; an ever-changing coastline, dramatic mountain peaks, sheltered beaches, verdant forests, great cultural festivals and a wealth of tasty local produce.
Don't forget to pack your binoculars - red squirrels, deer, golden eagles, otters, seals, basking sharks and more can often be seen across the island and on the coastline. Our accommodation is located on the south of the island and a 5 minute walk from the wonderful sandy Kilmory beach. Add in walks, places of interest and great company then an exciting break is yours to enjoy.

Location & Itinerary
For the walkers there will be possible sections of the Arran Coastal Way, we are seeking local knowledge for some alternative walks too. Please of interest include Machrie Moor Stone Circles, Brodick Castle, Arran Heritage Museum and more. A full itinerary will be advised nearer the time.
Friday and Saturday 2 course evening dinners and 2 breakfasts are included in the cost of the weekend. Dietary catering available. Our on site cook is Latvian born but has spent lots of her life in France, Italy, Switzerland and Scotland and the lodge manager says 'honestly say her cooking is wonderful!'.
Travel & Stay
The purpose built accommodation was opened in May 2005. It is attached to Kilmory Public Hall and accommodates up to 21 guests with it's own fully-equipped kitchen/dining room.
There are two dormitory-style rooms sleeping eight, and two en-suite rooms, sleeping three and four respectively. Generous storage is provided below the bunks. Each room has its own lock for your security. There are ample toilet and shower facilities for the dormitory guests. They provide bed linen for the single bed size bunks, including sheets and duvets, but you must provide their own towels. The carpeted bedrooms are comfortable and warm, beds will be made up with their bed linen in time for our arrival. Rooms will be allocated as bookings are made. Rooms will be allocated solely for males or females.
Getting to Arran couldn’t be easier.
The crossing by car ferry from Ardrossan Harbour to Brodick is served by the large and modern MV Caledonian Isles. The crossing takes 55 minutes, and it is advisable to book in advance if you are planning to bring a car to the island.
Alternatively, during the summer months, you can also sail from Claonaig on the Kintyre Peninsula to Lochranza in the north of the Island. The shorter crossing takes only 30 minutes.
