Come and join us for more stories about Lichfield's rich history from Jono.

We will enjoy a gentle, relaxed walking tour of the historic streets of Lichfield with our professional guide Jono.

For this tour we will find out how Lichfield grew during the 60 year reign of Queen Victoria. During that time, Lichfield grew and developed with an increasing population and expansion of the inner city. This tour describes some of the great benefactors, businessmen and entrepreneurs that helped to remodel the city as well as illustrating the many splendid Victorian red-brick buildings that line the city’s streets. Highlights include the The Old Library and Museum, the statue of Samuel Johnson, the tragic story of Edward Shakeshaft and the restoration of the west front of Lichfield Cathedral.

No main roads to cross, the walk will take an hour and half and provides another chapter in the fascinating history of this grand old Georgian city.

Jono is a former Tourism Officer at Visit Lichfield and is the author of the book ‘The A-Z of Lichfield’ and is a regular history feature contributor to the local monthly magazine, Citylife in Lichfield.

Join us for lunch afterwards at Bistro Number 19 after the walking tour. Click on this link to take you to the event on our web pages.
