York Option: Guided Tour of York Minster
Overview
York Minster is the seat of the Archbishop of York and is the largest Gothic Cathedral in the country dominating the city's historic skyline. It's world famous for its myriad of impressive stained glass windows and the Great East Window contains the largest expanse of medieval stained glass in the world.
Join us for a 60 minute guided tour of the Minster to learn about its eight centuries of history.
Afterwards you can stay to explore more if you wish.
This event is an optional extra on the York Celebration Weekend, but open to anyone.
This event is free to York Residents with a YorkCard or who can bring a utility bill to prove their residency. If you are a York resident, please do not book this online, but instead send an email to yorkshire@spiceuk.com requesting a place.

Entry to the Minster and Undercroft Museum and an hour long guided tour.
Extras
If you wish to climb the central tower you can book a visit for an extra £5 when you are there. The tower is only open in good weather, and if it is open, visits start at 11:00, 11:45, 12:30, 13:15, 14:00, 14:45, 15:30, and 16:15.
Location & Itinerary
Meet at 9:50am at the reception of Park Inn, or at the main entrance to the Minster (West end) at 10am.
Meet at 9:50am in the hotel reception to walk with the group, or if making your own way, the entrance is at the West end of the Minster in square DD2 of the York City Map.
