Churnet Valley Railway trip
Overview
This is an extra for those on the Spice Natoinal weekend at Denstone
Join Steve and Arlene on a journey back in history with a trip on the Churnet Valley Heritage railway.
The Churnet Valley Railway takes you on a journey back to the 1950's and 1960's. Hop onboard a steam train and travel on our rural line that passes through beautiful countryside known as Staffordshire’s “Little Switzerland.” Take a break from busy urban life and feast your eyes on the lush countryside of the Churnet Valley, including riverside views, and scenes of heritage canal boats on the adjacent Cauldon Canal.
Our picturesque stations offer lots of interest with a complete range of visitor facilities, and there's plenty more to see and enjoy along the way.
The plan is to get the 12:00 from Froghall and either visit the pub in Cheddleton of catch the next train back and visit the pub at Consall. You could just have a return trip if you are limited for time. There are cafes at both Froghall and Cheddleton if you want a snack or tea & cakes.
