Overview

Join Roy and Linda for this 7.33 mile grade 3 Yorkshire Dales walk which starts and finishes in the popular village of Grassington and has a total ascent of 255 metres. The route follows the Dales Way northward as far as Conistone via the gorge at Conistone Dibb where lunch is taken. The return to Grassington is an easy riverside ramble alongside the Wharfe. With just the one hill section this walk is rated as requiring only ‘moderate’ exertion levels. Grassington has a vibrant main street where after the walk, we may find a hostelry which is up to Spice standards.

Lost? Late? Can’t make it? Text or ring Roy (texts have the better chance of getting through in areas of poor reception).

Well behaved dogs are welcome on this walk but must be controlled on a leash less than 2m in length at all times.

Meeting Point

Getting There

Take the A65 westwards past Skipton then turn right onto the B6265. This road takes you to Grassington but be sure to veer right where the B6160 joins it. Cross the river bridge and enter the town. The road turns right at the bottom of the main street and a little further on to your right is the car park easily recognised by a round glass building just inside. Grid reference of meet place SE003636.

If you've been staying at the bunk barn for the Grassington Dickensian Christmas Weekend please allow time to get through the village to the meet point.
