Why not join a lovely group of Spice members to celebrate Christmas in style in the medieval city of Lincoln?
This year for our Spice National Christmas break we are thrilled to be staying at the Double Tree Hotel by Hilton in Lincoln for our 7th Christmas with this great hotel chain. This fabulous city centre 4 star hotel is situated within a mile of Lincoln Train Station allowing easy transport options. And for those in search of retail therapy, the hotel is a stone’s throw away from the city centre shops and boutiques

Location & Itinerary
Arrive anytime on Christmas Eve when you are free to explore the lively city centre then we’ll meet up for a welcome drink before going for our dinner, a 3 course meal at the delightful Electric Restaurant within the hotel. The menus for the whole break will be provided approximately 1 week in advance of the event for you to make your choices. After dinner if you have the energy (we all know how tiring the run up to Christmas can be) we have a few options to choose from, including Christmas Eve late night mass or perhaps if we are lucky we will find a bar open late in to the evening. Be back for midnight if you don’t want to miss out on our mulled wine and mince pies at the hotel!
Christmas day will comprise of a lazy breakfast and a city walkabout, Secret Santa (value around £10) and a bit of time to relax before we make our way to our Spice exclusive room for our 3 course Christmas dinner .For those who have room left, we will be served a light evening buffet before we have the option to take part in a festive quiz, and socialise with our Spice friends old & new.
On Boxing day after breakfast there is an optional (included) treasure hunt around the city centre, or you can enjoy some retail therapy or simply just take the time to explore the city more. In the evening we sit down to our 3 course meal in the Electric Restaurant followed by our final evening of socialising.
On the final day we will enjoy a buffet breakfast before saying our goodbyes to both the hotel and our fellow Spicers. However subject to numbers there will be the option of a canal walk straight from the hotel in search of a local hostelry!
Travel & Stay
The Doubletree by Hilton provides for a comfortable stay in contemporary surroundings. All bedrooms are air-conditioned and have flat screen televisions, complimentary WiFi access throughout the hotel, an array of satellite & digital channels, complimentary tea & coffee making facilities. All bathrooms have walk in power showers over baths, mist free mirrors & hairdryers. There is a bar to relax in serving an array of drinks and we will set up a Spice meet up area where we can relax, chat & generally socialise. The Doubletree by Hilton in Lincoln holds the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence Award and has done for several years running. This honour is awarded to establishments that achieve outstanding traveller reviews on TripAdvisor, the world’s largest travel site. Overlooking Brayford Marina, the Hotel offers tranquil waterfront views at a city centre location in the heart of the medieval city of Lincoln. Lincoln Central Station is less than one mile away, offering direct services to London and East Midlands Airport. Walk less than a mile to Lincoln’s historic Cathedral Quarter and Bailgate area with stunning views of the Lincoln Cathedral where parts of The Da Vinci Code were filmed. Built in 2011, this contemporary Lincoln hotel sits on the former site of the City of Lincoln Electricity Works with the original doorway located in the lobby area. The hotel offers complimentary WiFi in all of the 115 spacious guest rooms and suites. For those with the energy we can even stay active in the complimentary on-site fitness centre. You can arrive anytime on Christmas Eve - the rooms will be ready no later than 3pm however if you arrive earlier and your room is ready, you will be free to check in and if not, the concierge will be more than happy to look after your luggage for you.
There are double for sole occupancy and Twin for Sole rooms available and for those who are booking together there are doubles and twins for double occupancy. Twins are available upon request. If you would prefer a twin but do not have anyone to share with, please book a double for sole occupancy, let us know at the time that you would prefer a twin and if possible we will pair you up with someone else who would prefer a twin.

There are car parking spaces available at the hotel on a first come first served basis and the cost is also shown on the hotel website via the link above.
