Overview

An annual favourite returns to the programme – the Meal and Celtic Connections Festival Club Night! First we dine at Antipasti, a lively, bustling restaurant in Glasgow’s city centre. The ruggedly rustic interior, designed by a local artisan, blends woodcraft and ironwork in neutral tones to create a relaxed, comfortable dining space. An inviting menu prides itself on blending authentic Italian cooking with modern presentation.  After dinner we head to The Glee Club, this years venue for the famous Celtic Connection Club. Join local and international artists as they make special unbilled appearances with sparkling host Kevin Macleod to guide you through proceedings. Spaces are limited so please book early.

Starters

Minestrone soup full of root vegetables, cannellini beans and fresh herbs served with crusty bread

Antipasti plate with mortadella, prosciutto, salami Milano, porchetta, grilled vegetables, roast peppers and olives

Spinach and rocket salad with goats cheese, pine nuts, ciabatta crust and balsamic dressing

Miniature bruschetta selection, tomato and mozzarella, goats cheese and caramelised onion, crab and lemon aioli

West Coast mussels with white wine, cream and onion served with garlic bread (£1.00 supplement)

Salt and pepper calamari with a rocket and caper salad and lemon aioli

Mains

8oz rump of lamb with grilled mediterranean vegetables, buttered new potatoes, tomato and onion gravy

9oz 21 day dry aged sirloin of Scottish beef with sauteed potatoes, green beans, roast mushrooms and peppercorn sauce (£5.00 supplement)

Fusilli pasta with chicken in a chunky tomato, paprika and mascarpone sauce

Whole sea bream 'Aqua Pazza', poached in stock and white wine with olives, cherry tomatoes and a hint of chilli, served with green beans and new potatoes

Calzone stuffed with mortadella, Italian sausage, pepperoni and mozzarella, finished with crispy pancetta

King prawns and mussels with kalamata olives, onions and capers in tomato sugo with spaghetti

Aubergine and roast pepper Parmagiana with penne pasta, oven finished in foil with buffalo mozzarella and a Parmesan crust

Lobster ravioli with seared king prawns in a Parmesan, white wine and cream sauce, cherry tomatoes and garden peas

Italian Vegetarian Platter: Butternut squash lasagne, breaded bocconcini mozzarella with tomato dip and gnocchi dumplings in a rich pesto cream
