Christmas has passed, and we're not quite at New Year…which leaves a wonderfully peaceful gap in our schedules! The Walkwise Lake District Twixtmas enables you to squeeze in a fantastic winter weekend escape amongst some of the finest mountains in Britain! And Glaramara is an excellent location with some lovely accommodation, absolutely superb food and great walking.
Plus if you want an extended break, you can easily link it with one of the New Year events by moving down to another WalkWise venue in Ross on Wye!
Glaramara in Borrowdale is one of our most popular locations as it occupies an enviable location in the heart of some of England's most spectacular mountains and beautiful valleys, …and the food is great! From the front door of the centre, there is a massive range of walking to choose from, with something for everyone!
There are the towering heights of Great Gable, High Spy, Maiden Moor, Castle Crag, the beautiful Derwentwater, the superb cafes throughout Borrowdale and some traditional Lakeland hostelries! Simply a superb place for a winter break.

Accommodation: Is in Glaramara, a purpose built walking centre at the foot of the Borrowdale Valley in the heart of the beautiful Lake District National Park. The centre is ideal for walkers and is located in a commanding position in the beautiful vale of Borrowdale.
It offers a mixture of single rooms which are non ensuite, singles that are ensuite and twin-bedded or double bedded ensuite rooms. Some of the bedrooms have lovely views of the surrounding valleys and hills and all have complimentary tea/coffee facilities.
There is a well-stocked cosy bar and comfortable lounges, so you can relax in the evenings.
Their catering has an excellent reputation amongst walkers for good wholesome food, the portions are plentiful and the packed lunches satisfying! Then, should you have any excess energy there are also two excellent country pubs within walking distance for an evening drink!
