The Joy of Singing
Oct 16, 2019
Whether you're the lead singer in a top band, a street busker, the first to put down your name when the karaoke is about to start, or the type that normally only sings in the shower, a great many people find that singing is a great way to relieve stress and focus the mind.
We all love music and I always found I knew more song words than I realised when watching the old TV game show, Don't Forget the Lyrics. When the music stopped, I would just carry on. I probably sounded terrible, but I carried on regardless.
There's nothing like a choir to bring out the best in people though as singing together, as a part of something bigger, brings a great sense of community and togetherness. The range of different voices harmonising will always sound better than any single individual.
Sing to Life is a six week programme in Sheffield of hour long lessons on Thursday evenings starting on 31 October led by experienced and qualified music arranger Ginnie White and singing musician Heidi Tiplady. It ends with a final concert on 7 December.
To conclude the six week Singing Challenge, all participants will join together and give a roof-raising performance for friends and family on Saturday 7th December at 7pm.
Come along and discover the joy of singing!
