Overview

The competition is now closed, and it is too late to enter, however if you wish to make a donation then please go ahead by clicking on the Book Now button.

Guess the number of baubles on the Spice Yorkshire Christmas Tree pictured below for a chance to win a place on the fabulous Spice Scarborough May Bank Holiday Weekend! The break includes a three-night stay, with three breakfasts and three evening meals, a guided coastal walk, and plenty of time to explore the beautiful seaside town of Scarborough.

Entries cost a minimum donation of £5 and any money raised will be used to help Yorkshire's homeless in this most difficult of years.

To enter, take a look at the Christmas tree in the photo below, and guess how many baubles are on the tree (excluding the lights and the fairy on the top), then click the Book Now button, choose the amount you are able to donate, and then tell us how many baubles you think are on the tree. The first correct answer, or closest to the correct number will win the weekend. If for any reason, you do not wish to enter the competition, but would still like to donate, you can do that too.

The tree is six feet / 180cm tall and there is at least one bauble on each main branch. You can also get a look at it on many of our online events, such as the coffee mornings before Christmas Eve.

Spice Yorkshire's Christmas Tree
How many baubles are on this tree?

The charity One Big Family help the homeless around Yorkshire, offering outreach services to rough sleepers and some vulnerably housed people. Their volunteers are out on the streets at night offering hot and cold drinks, food, snacks, clothing, underwear, hygiene items and sleeping bags to those in need. For the last two years, Spice have been pleased to be able to help them at Christmastime by putting together shoeboxes of essential items. While this year, they are needed more than ever, we haven't been able to meet up to help, but you can still help us to help them by making a financial donation. We will use any money raised to buy essential items needed by One Big Family and they will distribute them to those that need them most. By entering our fun competition, you are helping out and you have a chance of winning a place on our fabulous three-night weekend break in Scarborough.

We'll announce the correct answer and the winner during TSI Christmas Eve.

Terms:

  • Maximum of one entry per Spice member who makes a donation of at least £5.
  • Entries must be made by 8pm on Christmas Eve, Thursday 24 December 2020.
  • We may share the name of the winner on our website, email bulletin, and social media.
  • The prize will be awarded to the first member who correctly guesses the number of baubles on the tree. If nobody guesses correctly, the closest guess to the correct number will win.
  • In the event of a tie, the first closest guess will win. You are guessing the number of baubles on the tree of any shape or size. The fairy on the top and the lights do not count as baubles.
  • The prize is one place in a shared room on the Scarborough May Bank Holiday Weekend 30 April to 3 May 2021 and is not transferrable. If the winner has already booked a place on the weekend, they will get a Spice credit note for any money already paid.

Many thanks for your help.
