West Side Story is a musical inspired by William Shakespeare's play Romeo and Juliet. The story is set in the mid-1950s in the Upper West Side of Manhattan in New York City, then a multiracialblue-collar neighbourhood. The musical explores the rivalry between the Jets and the Sharks, two teenage street gangs of different ethnic backgrounds. The members of the Sharks, from Puerto Rico, are taunted by the Jets, a white gang.[1] The young protagonist, Tony, a former member of the Jets and best friend of the gang's leader, Riff, falls in love with Maria, the sister of Bernardo, the leader of the Sharks. The dark theme, sophisticated music, extended dance scenes, and focus on social problems marked a turning point in musical theatre.

Clevedon Hall is a Grade II-listed 19th century manor house, set within 17 acres of glorious Somerset countryside and is now an outdoor cinema experience.  Screenings take place on the lawn in front of the hall, overlooking the water.

Hot food and snacks will be available, an on-site bar and picnics are welcome. Bring your own blanket or folding chair. Gates open at 7.45pm and the film starts at approximately 9.15pm. We aim to meet outside the gates at 8.00pm.

Limited free on-site parking is available on a first come, first served basis.

Please note that tickets will be confirmed as available at the time of booking. Please do not leave it until the last minute as this is a one off event and these tickets will sell out very quickly.

If you are planning to book some of our upcoming events please don't leave it to the last minute as the popular events get booked up very quickly and we can't hold places for long on public events such as theatre trips, spa visits or weekends.   The earlier you book, the more likely you are to get the booking you want.  Of course, you can add your name to a waiting list but then you are left hoping someone else cancels. Don't miss out, sort it out!
