Overview

Christmas has passed, and we're not quite at New Year…which leaves a wonderfully peaceful gap in our schedules! The Walkwise Peak District Twixtmas break enables you to squeeze in a fantastic winter weekend escape amongst some of the finest countryside in Britain! And the HF Peveril of the Peak is anexcellent location with some lovely accommodation, absolutely superb food and great walking. Plus if you want an extended break, you can easily link it with one of the New Year events!

Set in the southern edge of Britain’s National Parks, there is a smorgasbord of walks on our doorstep as we have easy access to stunning White Peaks.. In terms of the mighty impressive walking the enchanting dales of Dovedale and Mill Dale are sure to feature and this means the pleasing River Dove will be on the menu too. But we can also venture a little further perhaps visiting the quaint hamlet Hartington which in turn earths up the serenely beautiful Wolfscotedale to add into the pot. Another walk which is sure to be a winner loops around the River Manifold and near the vicinity of the River Hamps making a dish fit for a King! Add to this, over the course of the trip, pretty hamlets & villages not to mention good pubs & cafes plus so much more and all in great company. And then a little further afield is the lovely towns of Buxton which then offer a myriad of new walks and routes.

Includes

2 nights accommodation, 2 breakfasts, 2 evening meals, 2 picnic lunches, 2 days of guided walks with a choice of walks each day

Location & Itinerary

Is this for me?

To allow you to choose a walk that suits you best, we provide a minimum of two walks on each day, led by professional and knowledgeable walking guides. On both days there will be a harder walk of 10-14 miles with 1000+ft of ascent (please be realistic about your level of fitness and join the right walk for you, after all it should be about pleasure at the end of the day) and a gentler walk of 8-9 miles with less ascent.

Travel & Stay

Surrounded by pretty countryside and set in a charming village location this comfortable Country House provides a perfect base for Twixtmas Break. From here we shall have our every need catered for. All the bedrooms have an individual layout and character but all have TV with digital radio, hair dryer and complimentary tea and coffee making facilities. For our complete relaxation the spacious public rooms lead to a licenced bar which in turn opens onto a terrace with an aspect enjoying a delightful view of the surrounding countryside. Wi-Fi in all public areas and a proper boot and drying room to cater for any type of weather.
