Walk: Three Reservoirs at Ingbirchworth
Overview
Our walk today covers a variety of terrains, from lakeside footpaths, quiet roads and fields. We will circle Scout Dike, Ingbirchworth and Royd Moor reservoirs. At the highest point, we have wide views across much of West and South Yorkshire.
If luck is on our side, we may be able to sit outside one of Penistone's pubs afterwards.
Distance: around 6 miles, but with around 170m of ascent.
Do not attend if you have virus symptoms.
We must all observe the social distancing regulations. Please do not book unless you are prepared to keep a two metre distance from other walkers. We are not requiring members to wear face coverings, but you are welcome to do so if that makes you feel more comfortable. We advise that you bring gloves and hand sanitiser. Do not share food or drink or equipment such as walking poles with other walkers outside your household or bubble.
Location & Itinerary
Distance: 6 miles; 170 meters of ascent.
We meet in the car park of Scout Dike Reservoir near the junction of the A629 and B6462. The entrance is almost directly opposite the Peak Venture centre and is also signed Barnsley Trout Club. There is a 6' 6" maximum height barrier.
If the car park is full, there is some additional parking in a layby a short distance further along the A629, or it may be possible to park on the roadside on the B6462 or on the grass verge near the car park.
