Walk - Thames Barrier to Greenwich and Queen's House Museum, 5 miles
Overview
Please meet at Charlton railway station for 9.50am, ready to depart at 10:00.
The morning walk is flat and includes a visit to view the Thames Barrier from the south side of the River. We follow the Thames, past the O2 stadium to our lunch stop in a pub overlooking the Thames (at your own expense).
After lunch we will walk the final mile, past Greenwich Power Station (built in 1906 to power trams and now a back up for London Underground) and on to experience a walk under the Thames and back via the Greenwich tunnel before visiting the Queen's House museum (entry included). You might like to treat yourself to afternoon tea and cake in one of the cafes nearby before making your way home from Maze Hill railway station or Cutty Sark DLR.
Limited to 20 walkers due to pub lunch booking. Please dress for the weather on the day. Your walk leader is Linda Richardson (07575 799909 for on the day), please ring or text if you are lost, late or can no longer attend.
