Visit to Tyntesfield and PAYG lunch - Bristol
Overview
Tyntesfield, just a stone’s throw away from Bristol, was not built as a bold and extravagant statement of wealth, power or politics. Its purpose was simple; to serve as a family home. Once hidden and inaccessible, the ordinary and extraordinary lives and possessions of four generations of the Gibbs family are ready for discovery.
The garden and estate balance faded beauty and function with an abundance of nature; celebrated in ornate Gothic carvings that decorate the house. Flower filled terraces, an empty lake, woodland, champion trees and productive kitchen garden give further opportunities for exploration. With each season you will experience a new side to Tyntesfield as they open doors and change perspectives on this much loved family estate.
With 106 rooms and a chapel reminiscent of Saint Chapelle in Paris, as well as the largest recorded collection of treasures in the National Trust, as nothing was ever thrown away, this is certainly something to behold!
As part of our day we will stop off at the Cow Barn Café for some lunch before continuing to explore the property (optional and payable on the day).
