At your request we are returning to The Moon Exhibition before it ends!
Join fellow Spicers this weekend to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the moon landing at a major new exhibition.The Moon will be the UK’s biggest exhibition dedicated to Earth’s celestial neighbour. In this exhibition discover how the moon has captivated and inspired us throughout history, bust moon-related myths and see amazing objects that have been to the Moon and back; the exhibition features over 180 objects!
You can see objects including:
- The “Snoopy Cap” Communications Carrier, worn by astronaut Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin during Apollo 11
- The Hasselblad camera equipment that captured some of the most recognisable and iconic images of the 20th century
- Lunar samples collected from NASA’s Apollo missions and the Soviet Union’s Luna programme
- A rare lunar meteorite
- Artworks from artists including J.M.W. Turner, John Constable, Katie Paterson and Larissa Sansour
- A Mesopotamian Tablet from 172 BCE, the oldest object on display
We will meet at 12:30 at the museum's Parkside Café & Terrace where you can grab a refreshment and catch up before heading to the exhibition for 13:30
