This event is no longer available.

A favourite amongst all Spicers, our regular monthly 10 Pin Bowling night at Hollywood Bowl is action packed from the word go. More than just a bowling night, this is the night when friends old and new come together for a fun packed evening. A very popular evening that offers great value for money, and the chance of a good “chin wag” to catch up on the latest gossip over a beer.

Our bowling night is one of the special new members' events as it's a great setting to meet a few people. New members are welcome to arrive at 7:30pm so that they can grab a drink, meet other new members and we can explain the pyramid game to them before we start. Regular players can arrive at 7:45pm, so that they are ready to start bowling at 8pm.

Lanes will be mixed up on the night so beware if you come with a buddy you may not be playing with them. We’ll decide how beforehand; it may be we match people from similar geographical areas, we may match people who do similar events or we may just pick lanes out of a hat.

Bowling Spice style – not highest score wins but all will be explained on the night. We play up to six to a lane (we sort you out into teams of two). Please note if you are very late you may not be able to play as we have to hand back lanes after 8pm if we’re not using them. It would also help us enormously if you can’t make it if you could let us know so that we don’t end up with odd numbers on lanes.

The price you pay includes admission, shoe hire and two games of non-stop bowling! It is important that you arrive before 8pm and report to the event co-ordinator in the bar (to your left as you enter the main doors).

What a close finish we had in the Grand Final of Family Fortunes last Tuesday. After seven weeks of competition it all came down to which team could find the last answer to the question "Name a character that is green". We'd already had some of the obvious ones like Green Giant and Kermit but nobody was guessing the last one. Then with one chance to steal, the No 1s discussed several options. If I'd have been playing I'd have gone with the Green Cross Code Man or maybe Baron Greenback, but the team decided to go with The Statue of Liberty. I thought that was an odd choice as it wasn't originally green but took many years to achieve its current colour.

Friday night sees the first Spice National Gurning Contest to be held online during our TSI Friday event. Gurning is the fine art of pulling a particularly grotesque distorted face. A prize is promised for the winners so get a mirror and get practising.
