Stained Glass Workshop for beginners
Overview
Here's a really unusual Spice exclusive event - a chance to design and create your own stained glass panel!
Jamal Rafay is a professional artist who has been producing quality stained glass for the last 15 years and you'll be joining him in his little studio in Birmingham for this one-day workshop.
During the day you will be provided with a selection of 6-7 small pieces of glass to work from and Jamal will lead you through the process of designing, glass cutting, leading, soldering, cementing and polishing. If you want to bring a sketchbook with some ideas you can but it isn't necessary as all materials and equipment will be provided to ensure that you will be able to finish your project during the day and you will head home with your very own stained glass panel!
There will be ample tea and coffee on tap during the day but you will need to take your own packed lunch.
Host & Everything Else
I would like to say that it was a very good workshop first he told us his back ground and showed us some pictures of his work in churches and private houses. We were able to make a small window and we learnt the different technique in making it. How to cut the glass, how to cut the lead and fix it all together and fill in with putty and polishing it at the end. I enjoyed it so much that I have booked on one of his four day course. Thank you for putting this event on in the first place.
