St Lazar's Church Bournville - Private Viewing

This little-known, quirky church is hidden away in a Birmingham suburb. It makes for a spectacular, moving and totally unexpected find. The rich decoration of this Serbian Orthodox Church is stunning and the story behind it being in Birmingham sheds a light on the recent turbulent politics of the Balkans.

It is not usually open to the public except for services and heritage open days but a cheeky email to The Very Reverend Father Nenad Popović has resulted in a private viewing for us. It is not a guided tour, but Richard will have some basic information to share.

There is no charge for this visit but we will take a collection between us towards the upkeep of the church, so please bring some cash.

We expect the visit to take no more than 30 minutes, however, those who wish can reconvene at a local café afterwards.
