Our Preview Nights are a great way to make your start with SPICE and the easiest way of meeting a few new people and finding out how it all works. We also run a FREE RAFFLE for all who attend (existing members too) with events as the prizes – just to add a touch of Spice to the evening.

The plan is to welcome everyone, talk through the basics of Spice, give you more info on the coming programme and an opportunity to book on events if you like. You can of course book in the usual ways (phone, web, or post - but remember the Spice motto – “You snooze, you lose – you rest – you rust!”

Jonathan and enthusiastic volunteers will be on hand to answer any queries you may have and there will be an opportunity to watch the Spice DVD. Remember, everyone who attends is in the same boat so don’t be nervous about attending, come on your own (lots of people do) or come with a friend. Meeting Point

We meet in the downstairs dining room from 7:50pm. It's on your right as you come in from the main entrance from the street.

When You Get There

Why not get a drink from the bar first and then come and meet us. We meet in the room which is on your right as you enter from the street. If you come in through the door nearest the bus station then walk all the way around the bar and the room is then straight ahead.

We'll welcome you and introduce you to others before the presentation starts at 8pm.

Getting There

Old Queens Head is on Pond Hill located between Sheffield Bus Station and Ponds Forge Sports Centre. If driving leave the Park Square roundabout by the exit signed Ibis, Travel Lodge and Ponds Forge. Drive past the hotels and under the bridge. There are a few on street parking places available on Pond Hill right outside the pub, and more on Pond Street.

The Spice Yorkshire Summer Ball

We now have full details of our Spice Yorkshire Summer Ball, and as promised, it will be on Saturday 17 June. We're going back to the Clayton Hotel where we had our summer party last year as we got great feedback after that event. There's no fancy dress theme this time though as this one is a ball, so dress to impress in your posh frock or dinner jacket. We have use of the large function room and have access to the outdoor area again, which is a nice bonus on a summer evening. The evening includes a welcome drink and a three-course dinner with half a bottle of wine, and then we'll dance the night away with the DJ taking us through to 1am. It's one of the highlights of the Spice Social event calendar so don't miss out!

We have another summer weekend getaway for you as we return to Masham for our annual camping weekend. Bring your tent and set up for our two-night stay including breakfasts each morning and our famous Saturday afternoon BBQ.
