Welcome to the Spice National Weekend Break at Loughborough University– we hope you can join us!

Based at the Burleigh Court Hotel on Loughborough University campus this our second visit to this venue for the weekend and includes 4* hotel accommodation, full board and 2 party nights one of which has a Sea theme (fancy dress optional), plus a great variety of FREE events and activities planned throughout the weekend.

The extras around the weekend are available to book now with the exception of the Sunday lunch which should be available very soon; we'll let everyone know who's already booked on the weekend when it is ready to book.

The balance for this weekend is due 24 June 2022. Cancellation after this date will be at full weekend cost unless we are able to resell your place.

Sports will take place in a venue 3 minutes’ walk from the Burleigh Court.

Sample Itinerary

Access to the accommodation is available from 3pm but you can arrive from 12 noon on Friday when lunch will be available while you wait for access to your room. There will be a Spice coordinator ready to meet you on arrival with a big smile and warm welcome and they will direct you either to the dining room if you are in time for lunch or to your accommodation. After dropping your car off in the car park head inside, meet your roomies/coordinators /etc and then get ready for a party weekend. There will be some activities planned for the Friday afternoon but if that’s just too energetic grab a drink from the bar and chillout with the rest of us.

There will be plenty of activities going on around the meals and parties on Friday and Saturday nights, so you can be as energetic or chilled as you like. We are still in planning for some of the weekend but rest assured that with all your coordinators involved there will be plenty of activities available throughout the weekend including walks, sports, a quiz and many social activities to keep you interested and occupied – a more detailed plan will be available nearer the weekend.

When it comes to the Saturday party theme, after a member poll through the National weekend Facebook group the theme will be the Sea. This is a very broad ranging theme and should therefore give you plenty of scope to choose from - think sea life, under water, on the water, pirates, etc. Spicers have proven time and time again to be brilliant at thinking outside the box so we look forward to seeing your creations, whether they be home made or bought. We know you will all look FABULOUS and remember fancy dress is optional but you do need to wear something!

The party on Friday night is a traditional disco (if Spice ever does traditional) and on Saturday we will have a fancy dress theme; on Sunday and you will need to vacate your rooms by 12pm. We will have some activities external to the hotel available on the Sunday to keep you occupied and Sunday lunch will be an option at a local pub.

As always you can do as much or as little as you like during the weekend. The choice is all YOURS but the main thing is that we can all get together and enjoy a great weekend at last!

Getting There

Getting to the University is easy by road with entrance to the campus only 2½ miles from junction 23 of the M1 or by rail with Loughborough train station just 3½ miles away.
