Welcome to the NEW Spice National Weekend Break at Loughborough University– we hope you can join us!

Based at the Burleigh Court Hotel on Loughborough University campus this is a completely new venue for this weekend and includes 4* hotel accommodation, full board and 2 party nights one of which has a Circus theme, plus a great variety of FREE events and activities planned throughout the weekend.

Getting There

Getting to the University is easy by road with entrance to the campus only 2½ miles from junction 23 of the M1 or by rail with Loughborough train station just 3½ miles away.

Before You Go

We are sure that you have been used to keeping an eye on the ever changing information coming from Central Government regarding the relaxing of social distancing rules and the new guidance that in England we need to be paying attention to. Obviously some of the devolved states have different advice but as the weekend is in England it’s those rules we need to follow for this weekend.

You may have seen the recent discussion in Westminster regarding nightclubs and larger social event gatherings with a double jab rule of entry possibly coming into force from September. Obviously that doesn’t affect our upcoming weekend at Loughborough and we won’t be implementing that rule now however as a company we do feel it is our responsibility to consider the health and safety of our members at all times therefore we want you to help us to help you!

We believe that our members want to do what is in the best interest of themselves and their fellow members so to keep everyone as safe and at ease as we can we will be implementing the following measures –

· We would ask everyone attending the weekend to take a Lateral Flow Test at most 72 hours before the weekend. If this is positive please arrange for a PCR test as soon as possible but until that is returned as negative do not attend the weekend.

· On arrival at the hotel we will be asking everyone to provide proof they have been double vaccinated at least 2 weeks before the weekend. This can be done via the NHS App in England (this is not the NHS Covid-19 track & trace App) or downloading a digital copy or if travelling from England, Scotland or Wales (see links below)

· If you are unable to provide proof of double vaccination we will be asking you to take a Lateral Flow Test on arrival at the hotel (please bring one with you). The results of this are available 30 minutes after starting the test and entry into the hotel will not be permitted without a test being taken and until a negative test result is returned.

· The hotel will also be taking temperature checks at check in.

We sincerely hope that you can see the benefit of us implementing these checks and we appreciate in advance your understanding and participation.
