Overview
Our meal tonight includes poppadoms, pickles, starters, main courses, pilau rice and naan. Nawaab Huddersfield was opened in 1991.
The restaurant is situated in the busy town centre on Westgate and is easily accessible to the train and bus station which are both literally just around the corner. Formerly a bank, the building was built in 1900’s and is of of Georgian architecture. The restaurant is lavishly decorated complementing the original features of the building with enough seating for around The term "Nawaab" literally means viceroy/representative of Royalty. In 1947, the Indian Subcontinent had 528 principalities each of which had its own ruler - The Nawaab. A Nawaab enjoyed a lavish lifestyle. They were patrons of the arts, architecture, martial arts, horsemanship, beautiful gardens and flowers, poetry and last but not least exquisite food and wine. Their commitment to providing a culinary experience fit for a Nawaab ensured their success and in turn they have seen their group expand to Huddersfield, Leeds, Manchester and even Spain.
