Join us in Tignes/Val D'Isere ski region!

It’s been a few years since we visited Tignes so we thought we should pay a welcome return. Tignes is linked to nearby Val d’Isere and together they make up the Espace Killy ski area offering over 300km of pistes. With such a huge area there is something for everyone; beginners and intermediates will love the many gentle cruising green and blue runs connecting the two resorts and also the long blue into Les Brevieres, a great lunch stop.  For the more adventurous the long blue and red runs down from the magnificent 3400m Grande Motte glacier are a must do, you’ll be spoilt for choice of just where to ski each day.  For experts there are many un-pisted itinerary runs which should get the legs burning plus of course “La Face” the sheer black drop into Val. There are also some fantastic and varied runs above Val at Le Fornet.

The tour operator for this flight inclusive holiday is Spice UK Ltd (ATOL 9046). Val is set is an open valley and is centred on a 17th century church and has a great selection of lively bars, restaurants and shops.  Val has three main ski areas, those linking to Tignes, the smaller but interesting Le Fornet area plus La Daille area above which is LaFollie Douce, a great last run stop for a spot of table dancing!

Covid 19 travel update for France

This information is correct as of 08/11/21 and related to passengers who are double vaccinated.

The UK is currently on France’s amber list and we must follow the requirements laid down by the French government which can be found here https://www.interieur.gouv.fr/Actualites/L-actu-du-Ministere/Certificate-of-international-travel.

This link provides information for those who are fully vaccinated and non-vaccinated. We have assumed that everyone booked to travel is fully vaccinated and therefore a synopsise of those requirements are -

·        The usual passport requirements and visa requirements if you are not a UK citizen (please check your own government consulate for any additional entry requirements).

·        If you are already vaccinated, no restrictions shall apply when entering metropolitan France.

·        If you are vaccinated , you must simply present proof of your vaccination status (NHS Digital App or paper copy) and a sworn statement certifying the absence of COVID-19 symptoms and of any contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19.

In addition, you are required by the UK government to take some measures on return to the UK -

·        Arrange for a Lateral Flow test on Day 2 from your arrival back in the UK. NB - this cannot be an NHS provided test.

A full list of test provider is available on the UK government website https://www.find-travel-test-provider.service.gov.uk/providers#list-of-test-providers.

After some research we have found that the following are amongst the most competitively priced for the Day 2 Antigen testing kits required after entry to the UK -

Randox - https://covid.randox.com/travelling-to-the-uk/

Collinson - https://www.collinsongroup.com/en/covid-19-testing

NB - Spice Escapes are not affiliated with any test provider and you are free to choose whichever testing facility you wish.
