Short Afternoon Walk and Picnic in the Park
Overview
Join Sally for a short afternoon walk (3 to 4 miles) followed by a picnic in Alexandra Park. The walk will start at Alexandra Park, through beautiful Lyncombe Vale and back via Widcombe to the park for a relaxing early evening picnic.
Alexandra Park is a wonderful, tranquil green space situated at the top of Beechen Cliff, with mature trees and magnificent views over the city and surrounding wooded vales and hills. It was named in honour of Queen Alexandra and opened in 1902 to commemorate the coronation of Edward VII.
You will need to bring water for the walk, a picnic and also a picnic blanket. You may also want to bring a jacket in case it gets a bit chilly later on.
You should meet Sally at the car park in Shakespeare Avenue. Parking is free after 3pm.
Toilets are available in the park.
Please ensure you abide by Covid restrictions in place at that time.
