Overview

Join us for a lovely, sociable weekend on the edge of Sherwood Forest where we will be in exploring everything this delightful area has to offer! With 3,300 acres of forest at our disposal and lots of fabulous places close by to visit you won't get bored, that's for sure.

We have taken exclusive hire of this 48 bed YHA which has 13 bedrooms 9 of which are ensuite from 2 beds up to the the largest at 4 beds so none of your sharing with 10 other people here and as usual with the YHA bedding is included.

There is a large dining room and a lounge for socialising in and partially enclosed lawns around with the building. Some bedrooms have the luxury of a small patio overlooking the hostel grounds.

The Sherwood Forest Arts & Craft Centre is close by and around 20 minutes drive away are the fabulous Cresswell Crags. As always with these hostel style weekends, everyone is expected to muck in to help make the weekend go smoothly from helping with the cooking, washing up and making sure that the venue is left spick and span upon our departure.

These weekends are great value for money with great company and good food and plenty of it. Included in the weekend are 2 nights hostel accommodation, 2 evening meals, 2 breakfasts (one with hot items and a continental breakfast), a walk each day and the services of a Spice host.

Guests: Guests & Non Members who are new to Spice are welcome to book at a £36 supplement though they may prefer to join to obtain the member rate and any deals that may be available at the time of booking/joining. Please call your local office to enquire about booking as a guest.

Getting There

DIRECTIONS: It is important to note that you cannot always rely on GPS/SatNavs to get you to the venue. We recommend that you print out and take these directions with you:

Driving: From Mansfield follow signs to Worksop following the A6009 and A60. Turn right on to the A6075 signposted Edwinstowe/Ollerton. Continue forward and at the mini roundabout go straight on. At the next set of traffic lights turn left onto Church Street B6034. Turn left in 0.2Miles and YHA Sherwood Forest is at the end of the lane on your left hand side.

Parking: Limited parking is available onsite - there is overflow car parking in and around the village

Arriving by Bus: National Express from Nottingham to Mansfield. Connections from Mansfield to Edwinstowe. Bus stop close to YHA Sherwood Forest – phone Arriva buses on 0871 2002233 for latest travel times.

Arriving by train: Trains to/from Mansfield Station, 8 miles/15 minutes away. Or Trains to/from Nottingham with connections by bus or taxi.
