Overview

Our 21 mile mainly traffic free bike ride with Mike Vowles follows a route to Chepstow via the original Severn Bridge. There will be magnificent views both up the Severn Estuary and west towards the Bristol Channel.

The ride is suitable for mountain bikes, gravel and hybrid bikes but not for road bikes with skinny tyres. A cycle helmet is mandatory and you will need to bring a roadworthy, well maintained bike, pump, spare inner tube and tyre levers. Also bring a lock, water, snacks and a picnic lunch, which we will enjoy by the river. You can buy food and drinks at Shirley's Cafe before our walk.

We will take things slowly so the ride is suitable for most abilities with a reasonable level of general fitness.

If the weather is rainy on the day please bring waterproofs and if the weather is sunny ensure you bring sun cream.

Mike will meet you at 10am at Shirley's Cafe, Station Road, Severn Beach.

Please ensure you abide by any Covid restrictions in place at that time.
