Roger's Evening Walk - Roslin Glen
Overview
Roslin Gunpowder Mills opened in 1804, and by the time they closed in 1954 were the largest gunpowder factory in Scotland. The ruins of the mill buildings dotted along the river North Esk form Roslin Glen Country Park. Starting in Roslin village, we descend into Roslin Glen, pausing on the way to look at Roslin Castle. After exploring the ruins of the mill buildings, we climb the opposite side of the glen to visit Roslin Glen Nature Reserve before returning to the bottom of the glen via the road and then back to the start.
