Robs Railway Ramble: Hednesford and Cannock

Another of railway rambles with Rob Smith. We use local rail car parks which are mostly free and catch the train a few stops walking back to the car park.

This 7 mile and ramble will start in Hednesford near Cannock famous for its mines and we will be catching the train one stop to Rugeley Town Station.

We will leave the station at Rugeley and pass through part of the town before heading towards Slitting Mill. We then climb up onto Cannock Chase and follow the Cannock Chase Heritage trail.

After a pause at the Cannock Visitors Centre we will return to Hednesford via Brindley Valley passing through Hednesford Park. Back at the car park we have the option of a carvery a short drive away. For those not eating there is a Wetherspoon and a Real ale Micropub.
