Ramble: The West Pennine Moors and Darwen's Jubillee Tower
Overview
PLEASE NOTE: This walk is going ahead even with low numbers so please don't hesitate to book
Join Eva today to explore the Moorland, Reservoirs, Woodland, Plantations and pastures of the West Pennine Moors, a popular walking area on the fringe of a number of industrial areas, which provides open areas of moorland and pasture on good tracks.
An occasionally demanding walk which will be taken at a nice steady pace especially on the ascents which are rewarded with great views on a clear day from Darwen's Jubillee Tower.
Location & Itinerary
Grade 3/4: Approx 10 Miles - please refer to the Ramble Grading page HERE which also gives you a list of recommended items to bring with you.
The Hare and Hounds Pub in Abbey Village is on the main A675 which runs from North of Bolton through to Preston and you can access it from the A666 through Bolton, from the M61 or the M66.
There is on road parking available on Dole Lane which is the road opposite the Hare & Hounds Pub; this is a popular place for walkers so we are starting this walk earlier rather than later to take advantage of hopefully plenty of parking spots.
