Overview

Today's walk takes us from the picturesque village of Ringley, along the river to Clifton Country Park. Passing through the park we then pass under the Thirteen Arches Viaduct to Philip's Park Hall. Here there is a chance to visit the incredible edibles garden. From there we cross the motorway and work our way along the Outward Trail, diverting up to Hurst Wood for a picturesque view of the city before returning once again to the Horseshoe via Ringley Woods.

Getting There

From the South leave the M60 onto the A666M. Keep to the right and exit at the first Junction signed Farnworth / Kearsley. At the first traffic lights turn left onto the A667, Stoneclough Road, Follow this road down until you get to the bottom of the hill. Go across the bridge and take the first right signed Giants Seat Garden Centre. Please don't use the car park as it is a very small but there is plenty of on Road parking for us to use.

From the North exit the M60 at junction 16 and turn left onto the A666. continue along there for about 2 miles until you come to the traffic lights. Turn right onto the a667, Stoneclough Road. follow this road down until you get to the bottom of the hill. go across the bridge and take the first right signed Giants Seat Garden Centre. Please don't use the car park as it is very small but there is plenty of on Road parking for us to use.

DOGS: Chris welcomes well behaved dogs on her walks. They need to be kept on a lead if we are walking amongst livestock, whilst we are eating and at all times if there is someone on the walk who is nervous of dogs.
