Overview

Today's walk sees us taking in a variety of landscape linking Country Parks via Canal and River. The terrain is in the main on good paths & towpaths and is flat though expect the odd incline or set of steps to add to the variety.

We start in Marbury Country Park passing Budworth Lake then move on to the Trent & Mersey Canal, passin the picturesque Anderton Marina and then on to take in the top of the fabulous Anderton Boat Lift. Then heading down to the River Weaver we will stop to watch the lift from the bottom before tracing our way along the river bank and up on to Hayden Pool through Anderton Nature Park. Then it is on to Neumann' Flashes a vast lake reclaimed from lime beds and then a short stint through Marston Village passing the Lion Salt Works to return to the Canal making our way back to Marbury.

DOGS: Jean welcomes well behaved dogs on her walks. They need to be kept on a lead if we are walking amongst livestock, whilst we are eating and at all times if there is someone on the walk who is nervous of dogs.
