Overview

Today's walk sees us taking in some breathtaking views across the Cheshire Plain. The walk itself is generally fairly devoid of walkers with the exception of the section above the sandstone cliffs which is, of course, the highlight of the walk with far reaching views.

Here there is the extensive view north of the great bend of the Mersey as it turns towards the sea and even the huge ICI works don't look too bad from up here, while the Welsh hills are always somewhere on the horizon. The lanes and fields to the south of the sandstone edge are very tranquil.

There are a fair few ascents and descents on this walk but it is worth it for the views!

Host & Everything Else

What to Bring: Please bring your walking boots and sandwiches as we will be having a picnic on the way round. Please refer to the Ramble Grading page HERE which also gives you a list of recommended items to bring with you.

DOGS: Very well behaved dogs are acceptable on this walk. They need to be kept on a lead if we are walking amongst livestock, whilst we are eating and at all times if there is someone on the walk who is nervous of dogs.
