Take a step back in time with Chapterhouse Theatre Company to meet Elizabeth Bennet, Jane Austen’s notorious heroine. When Elizabeth meets the terse and abrupt Mr. Darcy, she loathes him at first sight. But is there more to him than meets the eye? Brought to life by award-winning writer Laura Turner, this adaptation has been a favourite of Chapterhouse audiences for years and will be a joy to perform in the company’s 20th year of touring. Join friends and family for an evening of theatre beneath the stars, basking in the glow of this timeless classic.
Location & Itinerary
Meet by 4pm as the gates open. The play starts at 5pm.
We'll meet at the theatre entrance at 4pm so you can collect your ticket from Karen and find an area to sit.
By car:
The village of Harewood is centrally placed in Yorkshire at
the junction of the A61/A659 on the Leeds/Harrogate road.
Harewood has ample free parking.
You may wish to use a route planner – our postcode is LS17 9LG, although Sat Nav
users are recommended to try LS17 9LQ as this will bring you straight to the
main Archway entrance to Harewood off the A61.
By bus:
No. 36 to Harewood from Leeds and Harrogate runs every 15 Minutes during the day
No. 923 runs daily (except Sunday) and operates from Otley to Tadcaster via
Wetherby.
Upon arrival to Harewood Village you need only walk through the main archway, to
connect with a free shuttle service that will take you along the driveway to the
House. Please call the Visitor Experience Team on 0113 218 1010 on arrival to
arrange collection.
By train:
The nearest rail stations are Leeds and Harrogate. Taxis and bus connections are available.
