Operation Christmas Child - Be a Shoebox Checker
Overview
Every year Samaritan's Purse organises the collection of shoeboxes filled with presents to send to children across the world. This year they will be collecting their boxes from 11th to 18th November but then the real work starts.
A vital part of the Operation Christmas Child year takes place behind the scenes in the immediate weeks that follow drop-off locations being open. It’s during this period that thousands of generous supporters donate their time to manually check hundreds of thousands of shoeboxes for safety and customs compliance before they’re sent to children in need around the world.
To make their amazing work happen they need volunteers to give a few hours to help out.
You’ll be supported by experienced supervisors and each of the‘team tables’ can fit up to 12 people. All this means you’ll be able to enjoy a sense of community and team spirit with around an amazing 250 shoeboxes being checked per hour.
This little bit of help can ensure that children around the world, living in difficult conditions will still get those all-important gifts on Christmas Day.

Host & Everything Else
I thoroughly enjoyed this event and felt that I was contributing to a worthy cause. It was well organised, we were given clear instructions and were made to feel very welcome.I would certainly sign up for this event - or others like it, again
