Overview

New Coronavirus Tiers - Restrictions & Rules: Please be assured that this walk is allowed to go ahead and will be run within new government guidelines announced recently. The walk is in a public space and is classed as Outdoor Physical Activity, which is allowed in all three tiers.

At the request of many regulars here is another easy to moderate ramble with Rob Smith.

The pace will be the same but we will be going a little further, around 7 miles.

This one is from Leamington Spa and it takes us to the village of Offchurch.

We start by going through Newbold Comyn Park and then venture out into the countryside, making our way to Offchurch.

The return uses some quiet lanes a section of disused railway and the Grand Union canal as we make our way back to Leamington.

Its unlikely that we will be able to have a group meal after the ramble but we can have a picnic in the park instead.

Host & Everything Else

Can walks with groups of more than 6 take place in England, given the new tiers system and ‘rule of six’ restrictions on social gatherings? 

Organised group walks are categorised as Outdoor Physical Activity and are in a public outdoor space, which is allowed in all three tiers.

Also, as we are an organisation and have already met the protocols to reduce the risks with the relevant risk assessments and COVID checks in place, including a robust track and trace capability, we are exempt from the “Rule of 6”. 

We have confirmed this with the Government website and appropriate governing bodies.

This means that we can continue to organise group walks for up to 30 people, as long as we follow COVID-secure guidance.

Rest assured that we are following the government guidelines closely, and if anything changes we will adapt as appropriate.
