Narrow Boat Day Trip, Aldermaston Wharf
Overview
Spend your Bank Holiday Monday cruising the beautiful Kennet and Avon Canal! Spice Thames Valley and Solent have hired a canal boat for the day which can host a maximum 10 people. We will start our journey from Aldermaston Wharf and cruise along the Kennet and Avon canal.
We anticipate this to be a hands on experience (should you wish it to be) with turns being taken at the helm and hands on for the locks that we will encounter. On board, there is inside and outside seating areas for chilling out and catching up with your Spice friends; the barge also houses a toilet and small galley.
Spice will provide tea, coffee and squash (on a serve yourself basis). Please feel free to bring your own beverages but remember that should you wish to take the helm you will need to be sober and locks will still need to be opened and closed! For lunch Spice will provide a picnic which we can eat on board or moor up and sit on the banks (if weather permits). We will end our journey back at Aldermaston Wharf where we have the option to finish the day with a drink or two at the local 'The Butt Inn'.
