This event is no longer available.

This is about 9 miles of undulating ground but no big hills, on good tracks and paths in a part of our countryside that is often overlooked in favour of the loftier hills to the north.

The route cuts through areas of the National Forest that have been reclaimed from the defunct coal industry as well as sections of the Ashby Canal and the area known as Conkers. 8 million trees were planted in this area and the transformation is striking,

Bring a packed lunch, though we will stop at Hicks Lodge Café later.

The route and café stop usually takes about 5 hours

The route is suitable for dogs on leads.

There are toilets at start and at Hicks Cafe.
