Moderate to Hard level Walk: Priors Hardwick circuit, Northamptonshire
Overview
Great news!
The government guidelines have been updated and we can now increase numbers of walks!
We have therefore increased the numbers on our walks and will monitor how it works with higher numbers.
Importantly, we still have to social distance on the walks.
Summary: This mostly flat 11 mile walk takes in four pretty Northamptonshire villages, Byfield reservoir and uses some elevated ridges, providing exceptional views across the rolling hills of Northamptonshire and will be a pleasant surprise to those not familiar with the area. We will stop for a break at the Cross Tree in Byfield about half way round before continuing north to pass close to the impressive tower on Charwelton Hill. There is only a small amount of climbing and it is expected that we will be out for about 6 hours, finishing off in the Butchers Arms.
Note: The toilets won't be open at the Butcher’s Arms so go before hand. Dogs are welcome but will need to be on a lead for much of the time as we pass though a number of fields with sheep and horses running free. The route can be very muddy after prolonged rain.
B&B accommodation is available at the Plough Inn, Upper Boddington, which is not too far from the start. 01327 260364
