This 9 mile walk leaves Meriden, gently climbing over open countryside, passing through an area that will be dramatically changed as HS2 rolls on its way.
The route offers fine open views and no steep gradients. We will then enter Balsall Common village and stop for a break at the excellent Delicia’s Café.
We leave by crossing the disused railway that it being turned into HS2 and meander across fields to Berkswell, which encompasses one of the prettiest churches in Warwickshire. We then gain the high ground to wind our way back to the Queen’s Head.
There is a fair chance that the route will be muddy in places and the route is especially pretty if there is frost or light snow.
Note: Route is suitable for well-behaved dogs and owners.
