Overview

We are sadly unable to visit this July due to COVID-19 restrictions. If these restrictions are relaxed in time and subject to availability in the schedule, there is a small chance that we may be able to visit later this summer. Otherwise, we have already booked for 23-25 July 2021 so we hope to see you then!

Once again Spice Yorkshire are running our ever-popular weekend away in the countryside, with good food and excellent beer…

If you haven’t spent a night in a tent since being in the cubs or brownies – go on, beg, steal or borrow a tent & sleeping bag and enjoy this weekend under canvas. Facilities on the site include a toilet block with showers, sink and laundry facilities. Spice will have a central area where hot water, tea, coffee and milk will be available for you to make a drink.

Includes

Two nights' camping, Saturday breakfast, Saturday guided walk, Saturday BBQ, Sunday breakfast, minibus back to campsite on Saturday evening.

Price with brewery tour includes tour of brewery and unlimited Theakston beers after the tour until closing time at the brewery's pub.

Extras

Motorhomes and caravans are welcome. To book electric hook up contact the site directly.

Location & Itinerary

Arrive at the camp site on Friday afternoon from 3pm and set up your tent. That evening you can bring food along or eat at the pub at the campsite, or maybe go into Masham for a bite to eat. Breakfast will be provided on Saturday morning and then there will be enough time for you to explore the local area or join our guided walk to the Druid's Temple.

Cooking around the BBQ starts at approximately 3pm. There will be lots to eat with all food supplied so don’t forget to say if you are veggie, but please bring your own drinks, plate, cutlery and glass.

For those on the brewery tour, we will meet at 6pm and set off on a short walk of approximately 2¼ miles to the village of Masham, home to Theakston brewery. Your knowledgeable guide will welcome you to the Visitor’s Centre and your first drink of the evening.

Then we’ll stroll across to the Brewery for our tour and return to experience the flavour of as much of the range of Theakston's products as time allows (included with tour).

We will then return to the campsite by minibus (included) for the party to continue at the Black Swan before returning to the luxury of your tent for the night.

Awaken on Sunday morning to the smell of hot coffee & bacon butties.

After a leisurely breakfast we will strike camp. Why not spend the rest of the day in the dales or maybe enjoy lunch in one of Masham's pubs.

Getting There

From the South you are advised to keep on the A1 until north of Ripon then take the B6267 to Masham. From the North turn off the A1 at Leeming Bar to Bedale, then on to the B6268 to Masham Entering Masham on the A6108, cross over the river bridge, then along the avenue of trees, turn right up the hill, past the garage on the right, take the second turning on the left to Fearby site 2¼ miles on the left at the Black Swan.
