Linda's Walk: Hampstead Heath 7 Mile Circular Walk & Kenwood House Visit
Overview
Please meet outside the exit of Hampstead Heath railway station at 09:50, ready to depart at 10:00. You will start your walk across Hampstead Heath and past its open water swimming ponds.
Linda has timed entry tickets for the group to go into Kenwood House (please bring a Covid-19 mask to wear) to view the beautiful décor and valuable art works.
You will then walk on to the famous, Spaniards Inn (dating from 1585) for a pub lunch (at your own expense). Literary luminaries Keats, Byron and Dickens have all drunk here before us. It is also believed to be the birth place and favourite haunt of highwayman Dick Turpin.
After lunch you'll walk through woodland to see various blue plaque homes en-route to Pergola Hill Gardens and then back to Hampstead Heath.
You might like to end the day by treating yourself to a pot of tea or bar drink in the local pub before everyone gets their trains home.
Please bring drinking water, a Covid-19 protective mask, money for a pub lunch and any other drinks or snacks you may want. Plus an umbrella if it is due to rain!
Please dress for the weather on the day.
