Location & Itinerary

Food & Meals

Included in the weekend is a buffet meal on Friday evening, a cooked breakfast, packed lunch and evening meal on Saturday and a continental breakfast & packed lunch on Sunday.

This is a self catering venue so help with food preparation and of course cleaning up afterwards is all part of the weekend - please be prepared to muck in even if you aren't prepared to muck out!

Is this for me?

There are two options for the weekend both of which are great fun and offer great value for money.

Standard Option:

Included in the price of the weekend is a 1 hour ride on the Saturday morning where your ability will be assessed and you will be matched up with a Horse/Pony for the weekend. On Saturday afternoon we will be split in to groups and will go out in the beautiful countryside for a 1 1/2 hour hack (ride out to those not familiar with the horsey lingo!). On the Sunday morning we use our final session to go out in to the stunning countryside once more for another hack.

Day Ride Option:

Saturday Included in the price of the weekend is a day ride for experienced riders on the which includes 4 hours or more of riding including galloping/cantering in the beautiful hills & moorland and also incorporating either a pub visit (lunch additional) or a picnic stop where we will take our own lunch (provided) - our decision will be made on the morning subject to the weather.

On the Sunday morning we use our final session to go out in to the stunning countryside once more for another hack.

If you haven't ridden on this weekend with us before and we therefore do not know if you can control the horse at a gallop then you will need to pay an additional £10 to the venue for a Friday evening/early Saturday morning assessment ride to ensure you aren't over faced with the riding.

For those who are really keen there is the option on the weekend to book and pay for a further ride on the Sunday afternoon. However, for those who don't ride very often, you may find you are a bit saddle sore for that.

If you are really really keen and the stables have sufficient staff to supervise there is the option to do a bit of grooming, tacking up and poo picking!

Travel & Stay

We stay on the farm in their upmarket Bunkhouse with rooms sleeping from 2 to 7. We have taken exclusive use of the accommodation which boasts a slab pathway to enter through double oak doors into a large tiled entrance area with room for outdoor clothes, recycling, drying room, cloakroom with washer and dryer. A large dining area, off which is the modern kitchen, fully equipped. Tea, sugar and loo paper etc . Underfloor heating, separate sitting room with television/DVD.
