Overview

New Coronavirus Restrictions Rules: Please be assured that this walk will be run within new “Rule of 6” government guidelines announced recently. More details are in the Before You Go section and this News Item


We return to the lovely area for an easy 6 mile ramble with Rob Smith.

We start from the village of Hockley Heath and initially head south along the Stratford on Avon canal. Then we cross to Lapworth and its pretty church.

The return passes near to Packwood House and uses field paths through farmland and quiet country lanes.

The pub does food all day so you can eat at the end of the ramble if you wish.

Can walks with groups of more than 6 take place in England, given the ‘rule of six’ restrictions on social gatherings? 

Organised group walks are categorised as ‘outdoor physical activity events’. These are exempt from the latest restrictions. As we have already met the protocols and put extra measures in place to reduce the risks of COVID-19. The Government Guidance states that organised indoor and outdoor sports, physical activity and exercise classes are allowed. We have confirmed this with both the Government website and Sport England guidance.

Sport England have summarised the guidance in a tweet which says: 

“Govt have clarified that from 14 Sept, people can continue to:  

  • take part in organised outdoor sports and physical activity events


This means that we can continue to organise group walks for up to 30 people, as long as we follow COVID-secure guidance. See the link to our New Item of (date) for more details.

Rest assured that we are following the government guidelines closely, and if anything changes we will adapt as appropriate.
