Hidcote and Chipping Camden Hard walk
Overview
Starting from Hidcote Gardens car park in the pretty hamlet of Hidcote Bartim that nestles high up in the Cotswolds, we descend through parkland and ancient fields to the village of Mickleton, resplendent in the warm glow of Cotswold stone and presided over by its church with magnificent steeple.
Crossing open fields and using a short section of road we then begin our ascent up Dover’s Hill, which forms the end of the long escarpment above Broadway. After breathing deeply of the magnificent views across the Vale of Evesham, we then follow the Cotswold way down into Chipping Camden, where we will stop for lunch to admire its ancient market hall and numerous quaint shop fronts.
Our route is then fairly flat across open fields to then gently climb up to the village of Edbrington before following contours around to Hidcote Boyce and back to our starting point.
The walk is likely to take up to 5 hours.
