Gorton Monastery - The Christmas Story
Overview
Today we are going along to an open day at the stunning Gorton Monastery to help celebrate Christmas. We’ll meet at the entrance to the monastery and take a look around this fantastic building prior to joining in with their open day celebration ‘The Christmas Story’ a one hour celebration with Carol Singing and a donkey from the donkey sanctuary. Then we are free to partake of festive fare in the onsite café or continue to tour this spectacular building. This event is a free event hosted by the monastery – all events fee’s paid are going directly to the monastery as a donation on the day.

Please meet your host at the main entrance to Gorton Monastery at 1pm
By Car from Manchester: Take the A635 Ashton Old Road or A57 Hyde Road to the A1060 Inner Ring Road. Turn there following the brown tourist Monastery signs and look out for the green spire. By Car into Manchester: From the M60, junction 24 follow A57 into Manchester. At the A6010 Inner Ring Road turn right and follow Monastery signs, look out for the green spire. There is a free car park on site.
