Tonight we take a circular walk from the village of Boston Spa following part of the Ebor Way starting alongside the meandering River Wharfe. We'll leave the river near the site of a Roman fort and follow field paths past the site of the lost medieval village of Toulston before returning to our start point.

We'll probably pop in the pub at the end.

Is this for me?

Walking on riverside and field footpaths and roadsides. There are some styles but this one is fairly level. 65m of ascent.

What To Bring

Wear suitable clothing and footwear.

Meeting Point

Meet by The Fox and Hounds, which is at the junction of the High Street (A659) and Grove Road.

Getting There

Boston Spa is easy to get to and the meet point is less than 2 miles from junction 45 of the A1(M). From the Motorway junction, take the A659 through Boston Spa and you will some to the Fox and Hounds on the right. Turn right here and park on Grove Road.

There are no evening buses.

Summer's here!

The long light days, and hopefully some sunny weather give us lots of opportunities to get outdoors and summer is the season with our widest range of options for Spice events. We've got lots of social walks, including one this evening at Boston Spa. Our outdoor tennis sessions start this month. We've got outdoor theatre events too, which are a great fun way to watch a show and enjoy a picnic! Look out for the music festival in our programme, and tree-trekking too, and we have more outdoor events to come, so keep an eye on the website or Spice Social app!

Getting out and about (1)

The photo is the group on the Walk from Sowerby Bridge to Hebden Bridge and back last Saturday. It's great to see Spice members getting out and about in the sunshine, and we have many more day and evening walks for you in the coming months, as well as walking weekends and holidays.

Making the most of the long weekends

Lots of Spice members are taking advantage of the long weekends to get away at the moment, with many of you visiting Anglesey last weekend and more still at Coniston. This coming weekend we have Coronation weekends in Portsmouth and Tenby. The photo here though is of the group having a wonderful time on the Transatlantic Cruise from New York on their stop in Bermuda. See the bulletin below for more chances to get away.
